WARM UP SESSION 1

Warming up is always important before engaging in any kind of sporting activities.  Golf is no exception.  I have developed some simple exercises that even when rushing off to the first tee, we can still go through a stretching routine in the limited time we have.  It is easy to hurt yourself by trying too hard to hit a 300 yard tee shot without properly warming up.  Moreover, it is recommended that you repeat the stretching during the round especially when you are riding in on a golf cart.

1. Neck Muscle Stretch
Place your right hand on top of your head and gently pull head towards right shoulder to stretch the left neck muscle.  Repeat for the other side.
2. Triceps Stretch
Put one hand behind your back, use the other to push the elbow to the back as much as possible.  Repeat for the other side.
3. Shoulder Rotation
Place hands on shoulder with the elbows pointing forward.  Rotate elbows out towards the side and then back to the front.  Repeat a few times.
4. Arm & Shoulder Stretch
Place right arm straight across your body and pull elbow in with left hand.  Repeat for the other side.
5. Hands & Wrists Stretch
Hold your left arm straight out at shoulder height.  Press left hand down with right hand.  Repeat for the other hand.
