LESSON
PITCHING

Sometimes your approach shot lands short of the green but near it.  You cannot use your putter because the grass is slightly rougher.  Think of pitching as a basketball shot where you launch the ball into the hole in a parabolic flight.  The mechanics are similar to a full swing.

Ball Position
Ball is placed in the middle of both feet.
Alignment
Aim the clubface at the target. The length of the backswing controls the length of the shot.
Posture
1. The hands fall inside of the front thigh. 2. The knees stay flexed throughout the swing.
3. The backswing is slow and should accelerate through the ball. 4. Keep your head down during impact.
5. Remember to follow through as usual.
